002/365 Thailand #4

HELLOOOO PATTAYAAAA

It's actually just 2 hours drive away from Bangkok by any transport! The water sports usually closes at about 4/5pm so if you arrive after that, don't bother heading to the sea just aim for the night markets and restaurants!!! :-P The sun sets at 6pm thus the everything at the beach will be closed super earlyyyy.

Stayed at Amari Orchard Pattaya Ocean View! Intially booked the garden view but they gave us a free upgrade to the ocean view thank you God :-)

Exploring during the first night where we walked past red light district and braved the 17 deg sweater weather.

Parasailling & jetskii-ing the next day with the two waterpolo Lims

Went for Elephant Trekking after that at the Thappraya Safari!!! Qt elephants although I know riding on it is torturous to the elephants :-'(

Wildlife selfi3 lol jk fail jane (jane as in tarzan's jane...)

Admiring God's creation

It's really sad to see how they are chained and have no absolute freedom in the wildlife jungle unlike many elephants out there. As they grow old, they have already fostered the mindset that they no longer can escape since they were chained immediately when they were born. Felt so helpless and guilty that these elephants are prisoners to entertain us.

Reminds me of my mom's hometown

So my elephant slipped in the water and I felt myself falling on my right... while capturing this picture. I swear if I haven't held my phone tight it'll be somewhere in the water still.

The elephant trainer let me ride on her!!! Meet Soon, she's 27 years old and she's amazingggg. Picked up my slippers for me using her trunk's suction thingum because it slipped off my foot halfway and handed it back up to me :-')

HEHHH SHE'S SMILING!!!! ^-^

They had goats there too... and horses and ponies and sheeps...!!!

Two kiddos wanted to take pictures with the tiger (lol the tiger gets 10/10 for the most dao face ever)

Caught the sunset on the last day here from our balcony! :-')

Tiffany Show!!!!!! OMGGG beauties haha I really admire them for their courage and yeah to be able to perform in the body they finally achieved despite not being born with it.

Back to Bangkok! View from Somerset Lakepoint Apartment @ Sukumvit Soi 17

A: "Orh hor I'm gna take photo and show Aunty Hazel you're drinking soft drinks!"

J: *immediately puts the drink back on the table*

P.S Happy 7th Birthday Jayden! :-) Poor little boy starts p1 on his birthday today hahah

Squeezing through the protest to get to the nearest BTS station kill me I think I almost died. The crowd at the BTS and MRT weren't helping either....

Visited the Khao San night market on Christmas Eve and it's pretty scary somehow? The alleys are super dark and people will keep asking you if you wna catch the pingpong show or buy laughing gas etc and there'll be lotsa bars around where the angmohs are all dancing and partying!!! This pic shows no justice but when Don't You Worry Child started playing everyone was just up on their feet dancing!! Super super lively place albeit the suspicious alleys... Their roadside pad thai & rotee is to die for YUM!!! But they don't really have much stuff to buyyyy except for some shops that sell those chiffon tops and dresses

Oh yeah and earlier in the day, we met up with Xiaohan & Zack to have lunch at Som Tam Nua at Siam Square soi 5!! :-)

Then after which we headed to Mango Tango across the street for the best awesome mango sticky rice EVER!!!!!

Queue's really long if you wna eat inside so just tapao and hobo outside the shop and sit on the floor and greedily consume it BECAUSE nobody will care, everyone just wants to eat theirs also HAHA.

Christmas countdown at Khao San Night Market then followed by a short christmas dinner at The Pizza Company the next day @ Central World because I was rushing to get my deeds done by 5pm. Forgo-ed our plans to eat at a cafe in Sukumvit I'm really sorry :-(

Oh yess and if you stay or are near Platinum, go to Petchburi Soi 17 for this amazing roadside drink stall that sells iced coffee/chocolate for like 30 baht??? It will be in a huge ass plastic bag but absentminded me forgot to take a picture because I completely devoured it straight awayyyy. Thumbs up!!

On christmas evening met Aloy and we three went for quick ice cream at Swensons before I left to my aunt's place! Damn ugly photo HAHA but look at the ice cream!!

Next day it's just sadnesssss and goodbye Bangkok for both Davidson and I :-( (while he heads back to Singapore, I'm Phuket-bound to meet Flopsy's!!!)

I'll continue Phuket in the next blog post when i'm done with geog LUEs tmr haha I better get revising xx hope 2014 has been amazing for each one of you so far <3
